For those who are planning on comming to the WSF, this
email will give you some information about how
indymedia is trying to get itself organized for the
forum, and how you can jump in! To follow all

We have a building for housing and working. The deal
we had was a minimum of 50 people staying at the
building (its capable to support around 150 people),
for $3 dolares a day each person. This will be
somehting like 1500 dolares, this money we will have
to pay in advancend for the landlord. And this will
covery for those who cant afford to pay to stay at the
building. For the extra people, you will have to pay
for the day you will stay at the building - $3 dolares
a day. We ask all of them who are comming to send an
email to miguel (from imc-brasil-rio de janeiro) who
is negociating the building, and tell him how many of
your imc will come and the days you are planning on
stay at the building. We will rent it from the 20 to
the 29.

We are asking all imcs who are comming to help us on
raise the money for the building and for those who can
afford to pay for it. so if you can, please try to
raise anything you get. Remember that US dolar is 3.5
reais at the moment, so even if you raise a little it
will help us. You dont need to send anymoney right
now, everything can be payed by the time you get here
(included the money for you to stay at the building).
Another thing is that we would apreciate help with
equipments you can bring. Here is a list of things we
will need to set up the space. But if you can bring
any other equipment feel free to do it too. 

a) 30 computers Pentium II 64Mb+ network cdrom * (we
will rent those)
b) 01 Computer Pentium II 64Mb+ cdrom with 3 networks
cards (router)
c) 02 Hubs with 24 doors (or something simular, that
the mach can be more then 30 doors)**
d) 01 crimp tool (if that is more then one, great)
e) 01 Roll with 100 metros of network cable (this is
the size we need)
f) 01 lots of plugs RJ45
g) 01 some plugs RJ11
h) 01 Roll of phone cable
i) line filters (power points)

* if possible we will rent more powerfull machines
** the number of machines will be 30, but lots of ppl
will bring a laptop, so the number of points should be
more.
the g and h itens are optionals and will depend on
each connection we will use.
