Dear Antonia, it is nice to know about u interest to be involved
in indymedia. Those of us who have had the luck to know and be part
of the network fine it absolutely important to get to expose the
excitement of indymedia to others inovlved with alternative/independent
media work in Africa.
May be it is worth adding to what Rabble already said that indymedia is
about consensus based media making. And it is not very complicated to
started an indymedia group in Angola.

For a start I'll advice you to:
.1- Read the following documment that expands on the principles on which
indymedia groups are expected to be organised-formal consensus:
http://consensus.hypermart.net/OCAC/
.2-Read the websites from rabble and
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/NewImcHowTo .
.-3) Register yourself in the following two network list to get a feel
of the indymedia process and discussions.
-new-imc list:
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/new-imc
-imc-process list:
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-process

Then you can go the next steps as prescribed in
http://newimc.indymedia.org

If you get any questions in reading this documents or the website please do
write to the group that help new imcs(indymedia media centres) at new-
imc at indymedia.org or the imc-africa list
at imc-africa at indymedia.org .

About our plans for training/conferences; we are planning an Africa
indymedia Conference in Dakar-Senegal from 1st to 14th March 2004.
Where we'll have workshops and clarify how the indymedia network
functions. You can read more about the Conference and other plans in the frame
work of the tour which ends in this conference at
 http://imc-in-africa.so36.net.

So if you are intersted in being invited to the conference then send an
email in that respect to imc-africa at indymedia.org .

Yet I think for you and the others that will be involved in indymedia
Angola to better benefit from the conference it will be more wise to get
to work about setting you indymedia now; so that at the conference you
could try to better understand and clarify any complications that you
may have run into in the process.
All the best .
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sphinx.
