Dear cema,

please accept my excuse for having insulted your feelings
and let me explain what I ment that not well chosen
term.

Gambia is a most beautiful country full of lovely people
and with an admireable rich culture, to which I think in
fact "we" europeans should look up and from which we can
learn so much.  

Thereby, it is the more than a pity to see it subject to a 
severe idiotic inhuman and shere ridiculous dictatorship,
economic mismanagement, and isolation, that deprives 
income and robbes its people off both of the wealth 
and the freedom they hardly deserve.  There is nothing to 
smile about, and I am the last one to do this (I do not
quiet understand how you arrive to that assumption).

After all, to blame for African poverty in the above
mentioned sense are exterior forces (e.g. the "rich"
countries of the north), not as much the African people 
themselves.  That does not alter the fact that the 
outcome is poverty - a fact you will have to admit.
