Since the last update we got feetback from the second group organising imc-Kenya
thus they took the remaining two places for Kenya. Bar from imc-CH did indicate
his wish to be in Senegal; so he joins Libby from imc-NL, and GATSby from
imc-de all three will pay the trip for themselves.
At this point the picture of the participants to the conference is as follows.
The exact number of Senegalese to participate at the Conference is not exactly
clear as there have been information sent around the University of Dakar by the
professor who Organised for us to use the university infrastructure for the
Conference. There are also a couple of Organisations which have been informed
about the conference which include; ACADEV, A community cmputer centre, and RADI.
There are also a couple of activists involved in the “Boundaries to Bridges
tour” or coming to Dakar in the frame of the tour who will be present at the
conference.

IMC
UC-IMC had accepted me(Sphinx) like a volunteer to their special project for
Africa called IGAP. In that respect they will be responsible for my fair .

The IMC delegates whom we need funds to pay their fair include :
-3 from IMC-South Africa.
-3 from IMC-Ambazonia(Ex-British Southern Cameroons)
-1 from group in the process of forming IMC-Congo
-2 from forming IMC-Angola
-3 from forming IMC-Kenya
-2 from IMC Madiaq(South Spain and Morocco)

This delegates where proposed by the respective imcs.

There are two special cases here where I’ll be grateful to know your opinion.
There is Pennie Quinton who making who has been doing video and covering summits
and protest across the world for various IMCs but mostly IMC UK sice 2001. When
not an IMC volunteer, he is a video trainer and he works with people of all
ages training them to put together short documentary videos, which includes
shooting and editing.
He indicated his desire to participate if his fair will be paid. I wrote to him
to him asking him to discuss with his local imc(UK) so he could be proposed like
a UK delegate. He has not replied.
There is also Moussa from Senegal now staying in Switzerland since the last two
years. He is involved in a host of Senegal based cultural organisations and can
be translator for all the locally spoken languages. He got to know about
indymedia not long ago and have been trying to take contact with imc-CH. He
succeeded not long ago and participated in one of their meetings. He discussed
with CH to propose him as a delegate for the Dakar conference. The trouble he
says, is that IMC-CH is under lots of pressure now due to their being evacuated
from their former occupied building in Badnerstr; Zurich. I did ask Moussa to
have someone involved in imc-CH write to imc-Africa list proposing him as a
delelgate to the conference. Hope we can hear from imc-CH soon. I’ll be
gratreful to know what you guys think about this two cases. I’m presently
drafting a call for donations which I’ll send here for you guys to take a look
before sending out to other network list.
