Hello Nic, Peter, Mehlo and all others of IMC-SA!
It is very sad to inform you that it did not work-out with efforts to put
together to raisefunds for Mehlo’s ticket. There have been a series of
factors that came into play beyond our(my) control.

1- We have a couple of bills which included the extra bills from
Angolan and Congo delegates as well as the large telephone bill am expecting
this month, from the calls made in organising this conference these last
weeks. Up-until the last delegates from Germany left on Monday 8th March
2004, the point has been to save all what is left as funds, for the ticket
of the SA delegate and to look for funds to cover the standing bills later.
But as the last delegates from Gemany were to leave (8-03-04) and without a
concrete response from SA, it was then decided that funds be send down to
reimborse the extra charges incured by the delegates from Angola and Congo,
rather than keep the money here and sometime later having to send it to the
Angola and Congo delegate by bank or some other means which will involve
transaction charges.

2-Until I got the last mail from Nic in which the price of Mehlo’s ticket came
up to 7200Rands(884.88 EURs), all calculations on the ticket for SA has
considered the ticket will not cost not more that 540EUR, which is the price
we got from the traveling Agency where we had, with the folks
from “umvertilung” organised the other tickets. The agency had further
informed us(me) all along that the ticket should cost less if bought from SA.
That is the reason why in all the mails with the cost of ticket for SA we sent
arround before, the price of the ticket for SA was 540EUR.

Yet, when I got the mail from Nic on Mon, 8 March 2004 with clear information
on Mehlo’s ticket I thought it was worth putting some energy into trying to
raisefunds for the ticket. Which I did till today morning with no success.
It is not logical to continue with this effort right now.
I hope in the future things work out different.
Regards
Sphinx
