[Imc-africa] A MUCH MOE THOUGHT THROUGH SERIES OF COUNTRY EXCHANGES AND CONTENT EXCHANGE +WORKSHOPS SOUTHERN AFRICAN TOUR or what ever a planning group may want to call it.

I am of the opinion that those of us who feel the need
to debate the way in which the decisions was made for
the Dakar-Senegal conference should be able to do this
without the constant barrage of personalized
justification.

I agree that the histories of people should only be
posted by the people themselves.

That one person making the decisions- is in
contradiction to the principals of the indymedia
concept.
That the same person is "so called offering directives
to when and were the next conference should take place
is in my opinion also a move away from Africa(Africa
in Africa) making its own suggestions, formulating
ideas and finally carrying it out.

I would like to suggest that the idea as came up at
Dakar, an idea to have a caravan and range of
workshops(content-culture) accross the 11 southern
African countries sounded like a sound idea, if
planned with all the local groups over a longer period
of time and taking into account all the country
elements/conditions.
That Africa decides what, where, and what resources
are needed and then together we support to ensure a
well planned event. Planning for financial access can
happen from both the south and from the north- funders
who give money to the south and funders from the north
who will give funds for joint events.

We brain stormed a bit and would be willing to open up
the discussion should there be interested parties.

NICOLAS & PETER I would find it helpful to have two
way email to tease out some ideas.

There are a number of groups that I am in contact with
in South Africa that have an interest.

We in Switzerland(old anti apartheid movement-Debt and
reparation-campaign) would like to have a poduim
discussion to include old activist for South Africa,
church representatives who hold particular views on
reparation and very significant Swiss NGO's as they
have not been included in the 10 year celebrations in
Switzerland as it is predominately focussed on
contributions and interest of big Swiss business
ensuring future and further Swiss investments to South
Africa. We know what happen during the apartheid
regime-UBS/CREDIT SWISS, the arms and secret weapon
companies and not forgetting Wouter Basson.....one of
the very good friends of Switzerland.

Would there be an interest to hear your views.
