Briefly: I don't think we can say we plan to enforce a ban on 'corporate
media' articles. I think there are occasions when an article from scoop (a
for profit - advertiser funded site) or BBC / Guardian / Herald is
appropriate. I think we should aim to come up with the type of article we
support. What topics / tone they take. And is there anything wrong with
publishing the occasional thing specifically to highlight the coruptness
of the corporate press. Like: "Read this from the herald about the union
march, you'll get a laugh out of it." I don't see any harm in that.
I would like to see us make clear that articles not relevant to our aims
will be the foundation for any editorial decision. Where we can make
things easier by being more specific all the better.

PS. I'm away from pc's for two weeks, finished english teaching - off to
the Edinburg fringe festival with my girlfriend.
PPS. Shall we merge the ed and feature lists - for now? I only checked the
features list for that feature when I was looking for discussions. It was
on this list too. I think we are getting confused about WRITTING an
article to use as a feature and the other ASSEMBLY type feature. Can we
keep talking about this.
