Hi All,
I have appended a note explaining why, and hidden this post:

http://www.indymedia.org.nz/display.php3?article_id=599&group=webcast

as it has nothing but a link to a (very interesting looking) webpage.
Nothing offensive - just the misleading title (I'm assuming people other
than roving find this degrades the usefulness of the site) and no text!

Perhaps we should include in the ed policy a point that postings which
only have a link will be automatically hidden. The idea being (with an
explanatory note given in the ed policy) that if someone wishes to link
to another webpage with something they found interesting, they should at
least give one or two lines in their post to AIM which includes the link
to explain why they thought it good to click on.

It seems to me that this would have a few benefits:
* Many of our spams are link only postings, so this policy would
speed up removal
* For the good (useful) links that are posted, it would encourage
better brief explanations of why they are useful to other readers.

What do folks think?

Cheers,
                Brian.
