Kia Ora All,
Had a phone call from WSU exec member
Moananuui Rameka yesterday. He had just got the e-mail I sent last week
asking if WSU exec wanted to respond to the accusations made agianst
them in the Nexus feature and related posts (I was trying to get a bit
more active journalism into AIM!).

After I explained what AIM was and wasn't, there were two things I told
Moananui:
1) The best way to deal with the accusations was to post a response
with their evidence - since done, though there is no concrete evidence
as such.
2) That I would raise his concerns over a posting title with the
editorial collective.

The latter point is in relation to a posting titled *`` Radio Tainui
-Whakarongo Mai, ito irirangi Tainui *'', (4th comment added to the
article below):

http://www.indymedia.org.nz/front.php3?article_id=653&group=webcast

which according to Moananui means ``Radio Tainui - listen to the voice
of Tainui''. He had spoken to Radio Tainui and they didn't know anything
about the post, so he felt that the title grossly misrepresented the
situation. He asked if that title could be changed.

Coming fresh from having done a (victor post) title change, which others
weren't so happy with, I said I would ask. So.... what do others think?
I feel the title (if the translation above is accurate?) is a bit OTT,
though I haven't been able to contact anyone at Radio Tainui. I think if
someone from Radio Tainui contacted us and confirmed they knew nothing
of the post, that would be concrete proof justifying alteration.

Finally, we may want to add a link to the feature article about Nexus,
as I note that Marva Carlin in this comment:

http://www.indymedia.org.nz/display.php3?article_id=750&group=webcast

does seem to be admitting the accusation of violence by an exefc member
can't be substantiated by the video, so could we add a brief comment or
update to this effect on the main feature? (I hasten to add I don't know
the full details of this story, but am concerned that we give a balanced
response if we notice a new angle coming up - the violence retraction
seems to be such a new angle).

Cheers,
                Brian.
