Dear Don,
I am writing to you as a member of the aotearoa indymedia editorial team.
Please understand that we are all volunteers and are not always able to reply
to emails straight away. This does not mean we consider the issue unimportant.
This also means that most of us are quite unable to travel to New Plymouth (i
wish i could, unfortunately i am stuck in Dunedin).
We did not say we did not believe you, we were simply asking for more
information. This was not to belittle your concerns, but an acknowledgement
of the seriousness of the issue.
Further, given that several indymedia centres around the world have recently
been sued for defamation, it is perfectly reasonable for us to be concerned
about people suing against us too. Aotearoa indymedia simply could not
sustain the financial burden of a defamation suit; we are not a commercial
operation, we run off donations and people volunteering.
Please note that your post re: arnost wratislav was not removed. We simply
had a discussion about the post during which more information was requested.
You can review the discussion here:

I hope this email adresses your concerns,
regards,
Clare
