Kia ora koutou,
Clare sighs:
>> is anyone going to have access to internet over xmas? i
have a feeling spammers will get quite chronic about now,
(there certainly is an increase now) and i am wondering who
will be able to keep an eye on the wire. <<
I volunteer. I will need an admin password though.
>> well, in the spirit of being love and all that, how do
people feel about putting hatrackman into spammer status?
<<
Agreed.
BTW I think this ought to be hidden as it is not news and
is promoting a website, what do others think?

Suggesting some changes to the editorial policy:
>From the section "A. Problems For Immediate Action"
>> 3. The editor addresses an explanatory letter to the
author of the posting (if email is given), and sends the
letter first to the editorial collective.
4. If no objections are raised by the editorial collective
within 1 day, the explanatory letter is then forwarded to
the author. <<
Considering this section of the policy deals with empty
posts, duplications and obvious spam, do we need to send
explanatory letters? If so do we really need the step of
having the ed list rubber stamp them?
If we do need an explanatory letter, I suggest replacing
points 3 and 4 with:
>> 3. The editor sends the author an explanatory letter (if
email address is given), also forwarding it to the
editorial collective. <<
If not I suggest replacing points 3 and 4 with:
>> 3. The editor emails a summary of their action to the
editorial collective. <<
Also from the section B. Problems Requiring Discussion
>> Clearly off-topic postings <<
Maybe we need to flesh this out - giving posters some idea
what we consider to be 'on-topic' and 'off-topic'?
RnB,
