I think if we make sure people write a meaningful summary, in this case
perhaps:

finn, i think was objecting to me hiding this, at least it looks that

I will restate my reasons more clearly. by 'no meaningful content' i
mean that there is me meaning in the content. i did not say there is no
content, just that it carries no meaning. and contrary to the two words
of text "thought provoker" it is not a thought provoker in my mind. it
provides nothing to the aims of the site.

This has already been unhidden (if someone 'unhides' something i think
they should say that they have). However, if you haven't seen the 5m
swf that we are hosting let me tell you how it goes. A giant George
Bush is masturbating at the sight of the NYC twin towers, the head of
his penis is Bin Laden, when he ejactulates there is a passenger plane
amoung the cum. I can't get it to load beyond that point, which is
about half way. this swf contributes nothing to our site. no news,
opinion or even comment that i can read in it.

I fail to see why we should host this kinda crap.

--Bandwidth and big(er) files
This bandwidth thing, forgive me if i'm misunderstanding - but am i
right that every time someone uploads or accesses a file we pay
(donate) money for the bandwidth that uses. in my mind this means that
'To preserve the quality of the website as a useful media resource'
also means being reasonably strict on people who upload large files.
not bending the rules just applying them stricktly so we don't run out
of money which would be better spend (in my opinion) setting up
physical imc centres in the main cities.

we currently average 50 megs traffic per day, slightly down from nov
but up from 26 (Oct), 34 (Sep), 36 (Aug) - so, seeing as we have no
fundraising system that i've heard about - we should be strict with
what big files we leave on the newswire.

--our ed policy
I think we should setup a working group to revise and present a new
draft of the ed policy. people keep mentioning things but we have no
good process for getting changes made or agreed on.
for what it's worth i think we've all been a bit slack on explaining on
the newswire why things are being hidden - but hey, it's a real hastle.
i bet no-one is even looking at the hidden files much anyway tho - and
they should be more visible, but that's another discussion.
