I'm a bit concerned about the number of articles being
hidden without making any comment to this list. I
strongly suggest that we stay on top of this right
from the start. Look at our policy:
"Process for hiding posts containing problems for
immediate action:
1. An empowered editor (active member of the editorial
collective) identifies a posting as a problem and
immediately hides it.
2. The editor appends a signed comment to the hidden
article explaining why it was hidden.
3. The editor addresses an explanatory letter to the
author of the posting (if email is given), and sends
the letter first to the editorial collective.
4. If no objections are raised by the editorial
collective within 1 day, the explanatory letter is
then forwarded to the author."
If this policy is too cumbersome then it should be
changed - not ignored! Let's at least all tell the
list what we're doing. And, no I don't disagree with
any of the decisions to hide articles so far taken.
Just that we must decide what our process is and stick
to it.
That's all really..! cheers - roving
