HI folks,
Actually, this post raises an interesting definition
problem.

``What is non-commercial?''

The is a notice for an event (film screening) and includes both the
admission price details, and the word ``bargain''. So what is the
boundary between a company posting an ad for an event (say a Chemical
Brothers concert at the St James in Akld for $80pp) on the newswire, and
an individual or non-profit organisation posting an event
(film-screening fundraiser for $5pp)?

We really need to focus on our revision of the Ed policy and the
proposed Features Policy, and work up a decent list of definitions of
such ambiguous terms to clarify where we see the cut-off point. For
example, I would suggest that non-profit org's posting something about a
fundraiser would count as non-commercial, but others may disagree...

Oh, and while I'm being frustratingly pedantic, such posts should be
going onto the Active Calendar anyway, not the newswire. I've almost
stopped using the calendar, as almost everyone posts notice about
upcoming events to the newswire!

Cheers,
                Brian.
