Hi Duncan,
                    Okay - fair enough. Though I mostly usggested that 
cos it is the only option left under our existing Ed Policy, other than 
to pose it as a `new issue requiring discussion' to the List.

That said, I don't think it is worth worrying about yet. Once we have 
more of the structural stuff sorted, we will be in a better position to 
make sure that local, original posts do not get swamped by 
dross/spam/off-topic posts.

Leith made a very good point though - we should have grouped posts 
appearing according to the most recent not the first post in the grouping.

Actually, what is this grouping feature? How do you do it - I don't 
think I have seen it in action?
