Yeah, he needs to learn to play in the sandbox without flinging sand in
people's eyes. But I feel I have to go into bat for the guy. Don is a
Vietnam veteran and I suspect his short fuse is related to that. I've met
Don, his wife and his neighbours in person. They have a serious story to
tell and no communication/ media experience or skills. The mainstream media
of course ignores them. Investigate have done articles but their readership
is passive and paranoid. For them, AIM is a lifeline and I just don't feel
right about cutting them off.

Can Aotearoa Indymedia help people like these tell their stories? To me this
is the ultimate test of whether we are a group who is serious about
independent media or a bunch of activist ghetto geeks with novel toys.

want him banned too, the spammer list is not really working for dk, or we
wouldn't be having this discussion. <<

Some practical questions, do we have the technology to ban someone? DK uses
a dial-up connection so we can't block his IP address. A 'banned'
classification would still be a lot of work for us as we would have to hide
every posting/ comment of his on sight, wouldn't it? If we start doing that
he could respond by flooding the newswire every day in retaliation or worse,
is there anything we can do about that?

Understood. Hang in there buddy ;)
