Teenaa koe Don,

I wrote:

site, the problem is lack of context and background explanation. <<<

BTW The built-in search on the AIM site is a bit half-arse but you can search the site using other search engines by putting in 'Aotearoa' 'Indymedia' and then whatever you are searching for. Put 'Indymedia' and 'Fletchers' into Google.co.nz and see what you come up with.

>>> I can help you with making a website that provides this. <<<

I have set you up an easy-to-use website on Orcon, a free webhost. You have 10MB of space to fill with whatever you like for the rest of your life. Whether or not you continue posting to AIM, I suggest you use this resource to organise your ideas, claims, evidence and present them in an easy-to-follow way. If anybody makes a radio or video documentary about the Paritutu/ Dioxin issue this site will be a useful starting point.

I will email instructions on how to log in and use this website separately.

>>> I will work on getting you some more RAM for your computer. I take you seriously and I want to learn more about your research and help you expose it.

But seriously man, I cannot stop you being banned from AIM if you don't
take your own advice and "pull [your] head in". Try waiting 24 hrs before
you send your reply to an email/ moderation/ posting/ comment. Then read
the reply as Bob from Invercargill and see if you can't edit it to make
your point without lashing out? <<<

You replied to my email above:

>> PlaceMakers 2 reposted & gutterment dept post with better english/fonts
= left posted? please?

have you told these folks (AIM crew) I actually am reasonable? try to
be nice guy? semi "normal"? 18 months of "harrassment" and Clare couldn't
pick up a telephone? or anyone? and explain, maybe talk ,ask questions etc.? instead of a shitty label pasted on me? "spammer"? its all of our
health/earth story, and good question by you, why isn't someone helping
instead of always hiding posts, how frustrating would that be? Thank you for being there for me behind the scenes as I sense. swahili? :>
ok ok I'll try harder. I do know what you mean. <<

Yes Don, I have been advocating for you in the ongoing discussions about how to deal with your prickly online style. As I said earlier though, I am not willing to continue sticking my neck out for you if you are not willing to pull your head in.

Since I asked you to calm your postings down you have got worse. You have continued to pick at the AIM volunteers in general and Clare in particular in a polemical, unfair and unreasonable way. You have clung to your demand that we justify our hiding of your posts even though I (and others) have already explained that when they are hidden it is because EITHER they are incomprehensible OR they are abusive. Simple as that. No conspiracy, just confusion.

Some members of the AIM crew have given up hope of carrying out a reasonable dialogue with you. They support adding an ammendment to our editorial policy that allows us to permenantly ban chronic spammers from using the site, with you as the first example. This is technically possible as our server techs can check and block whatever IP addresses you use, stopping you uploading material to the AIM site at all.

As a last-ditch attempt to avoid this worrying precedent I have suggested we create a front-page feature about you and your posting habits and invite the AIM readers to help us decide a fair and effective way to respect BOTH your right to free speech and other people's right to use and work on the AIM site without being subjected to verbal abuse. But I can tell you this. If you cannot learn to use the same calm, friendly, sensible communication style in your AIM postings that you used face-to-face with me when we met, you WILL be banned.

What I suggest you do is this:
- Email the editorial collective <imc-aotearoa-ed at indymedia.org> and apologise profusely for your abuse of the site, its volunteer maintainers and its readers.
- Promise that you will keep your tone friendly and your language civil on the site from now on.
- Promise that you will make no more than one posting a week from now on and that it will be well thought out, the subject thoroughly explained and the article carefully worded to be understandable by the average reader.
- Promise that the only exceptions to this self-imposed moderation will be if an action happens in New Plymouth that you can report on as actual NEWS (eg the Vietnam Vets break down the Dow gates again).
- Promise that you will read the site and try to learn writing and communication style points from the other activists that contribute articles to the site.
- THEN, keep your promises.

Most importantly, keep your eye on the ball man. The corporates and the burocracies are the enemy, not other activists. Certainly not those who have donated their own time, sweat and cash to create an open news site that you have made a lot of use of.

RnB,
Strypey
