Kia ora koutou,

I think that is fair. Remember we are not only making
policy for dk. Hypothetically there could be a problem
poster in future who might use that 3 (or 6) months to
think about why they were banned and come up with a better
way of expressing themselves.

But I was thinking more about how the ban is actually
enforced. Either a) all postings by the banned poster are
immediately hidden by ed volunteers or b) banned poster is
prevented from having their submission accepted by the
open-publishing software. In case of b) it should be spelt
out that this is an act of censorship which directly
contravenes the open-publishing definition on our site:
"material uploaded to the Newswire is not pre-filtered or
edited. Everything gets published on the site. The editing
or filtering process happens *after* stories are published
to the site, *not before*."
