Hey all,

At the risk of telling people what they already know, here is my
understanding of the DNS changes we require.

Fortunately, Nick has the pooower to control this,
a simple ping to www.indymedia.org.au reveals that
its at 203.53.14.41. So Nick could make that change right
away.

We dont need to know cat's dns servers, or need them (cat)
to make any *dns* changes at any point.

However, since they use virtual hosts, we *do* need to
ask cat folks (aka Andy) to make the changes to their httpd.conf (actually
its a little more complicated than that) so that apache
will 'pick up the phone' when someone connects to cat
asking for 'indymedia.org.nz'.

It doesn't happen to 'pick up the phone' on org.nz yet.
(I checked)

We write an email, on behalf, to dns@ lists.indymedia.org  
asking for the changes.

Double checking here: Can someone speciically confirm
that they have done same. (This is the global change).

I didnt want to be teaching anybodies grandma about eggs and
the sucking thereof, but, otoh, i find it is best to err on the side
of providing too much information (and coming off as an stupid
annoying SOB) than too little (and coming off as an elitist geek).

Thought about how we could do the meta-refresh technique,
that we use now, but of course that won't work because we have
hardcoded complete links throughout the site
(ie href="http://www.indymedia.org.nz/somepage.php"
  instead of href="/somepage.php")

Why is that.. btw?
