Ok, I'll email cat and see if they want to set aotearoa up an acc on pink, if it's too much trouble for them maybe we could just use yours. I'll try and do this tonite.

Ok, that might be ok. I have to go to school soon, so I'll try and be quick . . .
You don't use an ssh program to copy stuff to the remote server, you use it to login to it. So with this program you can make directories, create links, set permissions and move files around *inside* the server. On windows these progs include putty, and openssh.
You need an scp [Secure CoPy] program to send files to the remote server. Cat recommends that you use winSCP for this. I haven't used any of these progs so I'm not sure. When I work I have two windows open, one thats logged into conway over ssh, and one that I execute scp's to conway from.
You will need to install programs on your friends puter [though maybe not Openssh, I think you can just drop an executable on the drive and go from there].

Err, isn't that a bit of overkill for a links page? How many links do you want? :) Do you want people to be able to add their own links? I could whip up an form that could do that in a minute [or two]. Simplicity is good.
Active uses posgresql, by conway [and pink too I guess ] also has mysql - though I would appreciate it if we stuck to postgres if possible.
