Kia ora koutou ko Aaron,

I don't see any point trying to get anything new happening with the global
radio stream until the new year when holiday hysteria has died down and all
the migrations off Stallman should be finished and most of the bugs ironed
out. If we can make audio files downloadable and streamable off Paranode
let's just get on with that.

One approach we could take it to make a radio.indymedia.org.nz page with an
index of all the audio that is available. Then we need an indyradio tech
with the Paranode FTP password for each part of the country with a radio
program that wants to participate. They will be responsible for liasing with
program makers and station technicians in their area and organising uploads
of suitably edited program files in .ogg.

I like the idea of having people uploading their own shows using the
newswire, is this a problem? Am I correct in thinking the AIM site
automatically flicks them on to Paranode anyway? Or does this still need to
be set up? This will still require some skill-sharing sessions at the local
level on audio digitisation, file formats and uploading process.

In the context of this, what should the imc-aotearoa-radio list be used for?
If we use it to share tech tips program makers will get flooded and unsub.
Do we want this to be a techy list and have a separate mailing list for a
newsmail to program makers? Or do we want to move techy discussion to
imc-aotearoa-tech and keep this as a low-traffic general radio list?

RnB,
Strypey
