Yeah I discovered Live365 it back in 99/2000 when i was first living in
Hamilton and bought my first PC. Never really had much luck with it. It's
damn tricky to set up and very complicated to listen to in my experience.
Plus it ads nasty ads to yr stream unless you pay. It's basically like the
YahooGroups, why use it if there are independent, non-profit alternatives?

Just to get you up to speed, Paranode have give us ftp access to a space on
their server to keep audio files. Streaming them seems to be as simple as
writing a small script to instruct the users browser to launch a media
player and accept an http stream. Aaron has done it with his show:

The main advantage of a dedicated streaming server is that it allows easier
playlisting and more people to listen to the same audio file at once.
