[Imc-aotearoa-tech] making dada accessible

Hi Finn

I've been looking for an open-source web-based cms for the local Disabled
Persons Assembly website I'm creating (static preview using Dreamweaver and
Contribute at http://www.dpa-auckland.org.nz/preview/). I want to add a lot
of the interactivity that only a proper database-driven cms offers.

I notice indy aotearoa has just switched to dada and it seems close to what
we're after (and it's looking good - congrats). However, I would need to
work with a developer to make the site accessible for our blind and
partially-sighted members. Dada doesn't seem to offer this by default. I
know what's required, but I'm not a developer myself. It might just be
tweaking the css (which I can do myself) or it might mean delving into the
pageserving code.

I've applied for a wee bit of funding to do this work. I'd like to offer
whatever mods we make back to the dada community and especially to indy
aotearoa so your site is accessible for everyone, too. Would you be willing
to either be available for some brief technical discussions once I've found
a developer - or even do the development that's required (paid), given that
you have a headstart in understanding how dada works?

I'm based in Auckland (met both Geraldine and Chloe through my mate Peter
Porteous who's now in Dunedin). Please let me know the best way to continue
this dicussion if you're interested (or if you can suggest someone else
instead).

Cheers, Sacha :)
