Kia ora koutou,

I just had a look at the subscribers for this list and
there's far more than I realized. With the upcoming
migration of aoteaora.indymedia.org (AIM) from Active on CAT
to DadaIMC on another server (yet to be decided) this is a
great time to become actively involved in learning the new
system and sharing out various tech tasks to take some
pressure off Finn, who has been pretty much holding the firt
so far and going a great job ;)

So I think it might be time for a ROLL CALL! (which is where
everyone on the list sends in a brief introduction maybe
saying something about their tech experience and why they
want to help with this part of AIM).

My name is Danyl Strype, I am a trained PC technician with a
reasonable knowledge of applications, hardware, Windoze and
some networking. I have done quite a bit of reseach into
open source applications for Windoze and Linux, most lately
chat clients that use the Jabber protocl. I know some linux
theory and I'm trying to teach myself how to set up and
maintain servers and other networking equipment using free
software.

I have done various kinds of organisational volunteering for
AIM since its inception and a fair amount of research and
writing for features and newswire reporting. I am keen to
help with tech work because I believe strongly in the free
software and open publishing principles and I like to
contribute to maintaining any infrastructure I get a lot of
use out of ;)

RnB,
Strypey
