Thoughts for meeting:

What is Bristol Indymedia?

1) A website.

Improving the site is therefore important. I think the techs have lots
to discuss... =)

2) A local news service, encouraging independent journalism and
spreading information.

I think some missions encouraging people to contribute to the site (or
other independent media) would be good. ie. Recruiting journalists for
the site.

A lot of potential stories may be missed because a person
    a) does not know that they can report what they have experienced to
an independent news source;
    b) does not think of themself as a reporter;
    c) does not see the importance of communication;
    d) thinks the mainstream press is doing it OK.

BIMC offline! For people who cannot access the Net, what about printing
a monthly roundup, and providing contacts so they can tell us their
stories?

Publicity!

(If possible I would like to nick some money from the fund to finance
some publicity...)

Tech:

We have been offered a connection on Bristol University network, which
is pretty fast.

We need a machine to go there. The machine at Mike's house is quite
slow: it could handle current traffic, but maybe not the amount of
traffic we would hope to get in the future.

There is tech work to be done: migrating the site from London, getting
mirror/backup procedure working, improving site.

Should we be updating our code from an IMC CVS repository?
