Dear IMC lot:=20

Let's stick to the guidelines. Perfect. So we just hide stuff when is =
racist, homophobic or sexist. No matter taht other times the information =
can damage so seriously individuals, jobs and communities!!!!!

Well I think I stated reasons from what that 'leak' was so serious. the =
allegations are serious but they are part of a dispute and =
investigation. i can say more but I can't because all parts have agreed =
confiditiality, but taken in consideration these and otehr allegations, =
justice will be made at the Easton community centre. As i said in my =
writing regarding confidetiality, not even ourselves had access to such =
information. It comes from someone aht perhaps had the courage or teh =
decency of exposing this situation. But this is using her wirting in a =
way taht she had agreed not to operate. teh consequences are clear: she =
is panicing and taken days off (and this is confidential too so please =
don't go and fucking print it). She has already ghad the first 'warning' =
phonecall. this document was stolen (maybe hacked from her computer). =
the police has been called to investigate. and if we are concerned it's =
because it's up on Indymedia. In some way, you would agree taht one of =
the problems with Indymedia is taht irt allows to cover-up the identity =
of whoever is posting stuff. in thios case you may think taht this is =
information is vital for the community and that freedom of speech should =
be respected. There are many parts in this including the community who =
would be fucked up if this conflict doesn't end in the right way and =
this information takes it to a very different way. i know it has been =
e-mailed around, etc. Nothing we can do, nothing you can do. In the =
meantime this person it's a risk, this person feels a risk, she feels =
abuse and betried. Fifteen jobs are a risk without funders who want to =
invest till the conflict is not over, everyone is waiting without =
knowing, and you out tehre have such need of being informed taht you =
don't really think of teh consequences. The community has its centre at =
risk, and you will tell me taht freedom of speech for some gossiping and =
for someone who has nothing better to do but to steal from a community =
centre is more important than that. You know the implications and you =
knoW taht this is not right. You have been kept puting that piece up, so =
I believe taht you have it very clear. Bless you.
This conflict has been going on for three months and that's why no-one =
else has treated the subject. Among them we can include the Bristolian =
who -believe me- would be very glad to expose such thing, based round =
the corner and with loads of information on the matter or the Estonian =
also based round the corner and with loads of information and who has =
already exposed othe irregularities in the centre before. Or myself: you =
doubt that i wouldn't like something like that being published in other =
situation? You know me, so take in consideration what I say, though I =
believe the damage it's done.

Personal response to an information leak published in this web-page =
(bristol-indymedia.org)=20
By Martin Mantxo (ECC arts worker)=20
For more than 3 months there has been no official infor-mation from the =
ECC about this community centre's situation.=20

In the meantime, there have been loads of rumours, some of them well =
founded ones. This lack of official information was due to the =
confidentiality agreement that both parties agreed to, during the =
investigation and the union dispute afterwards.=20
The published leak has affected this confidentiality. We wonder who the =
person leaking the information (nice nickname, by the way!) and who had =
access to something that we (as workers) haven't had access to (the leak =
document's a tribunal statement) for all this time (3 months). I guess =
that many in the community have been wondering what was going on and the =
community has the right to know. However this leak doesn't make any =
favours to this community centre and therefore to the community of =
Easton.=20
The people named in the leak and the centre too are under investigation =
and we believe that if justice needs to be achieved, it will in due =
course. This leak affects the people involved in the process and the =
centre too: the centre depends entirely of funding and this unbiased =
information could jeopardise these community centre projects and many =
jobs too. The community and us (workers) need to know the truth, but as =
I said, before this happens there are some requirements for this process =
to be considered. We have to be fair to everyone and we -workers at the =
ECC- have to be faithful to the collective's commitment of respecting =
this process. Meanwhile we have to wait to reach to the moment where the =
whole thing is told - whenever the dispute and investigation is over. =
This leak may provide some info to those wondering what's going on, but =
it seriously affects some individuals, this community project and =
peoples' jobs.=20

I'll finish this by adding that this hasn't been an easy situation for =
us, as we're affected too and we were the first ones to have this =
information untold. We have seen how because this investigation, funding =
for our projects and jobs weren't renewed. Meanwhile we've kept on =
working and doing our jobs, delivering what we had committed to. In the =
meantime, another community festival has taken place (for many, the best =
one so far), youth activities (BS5) and Peach Playscheeme have happened =
all along the summer, Planet Easton has continued his publication (next =
issue to be soon in your house), other projects have been started and =
established, and the place has continued opened for all the activities =
happening here on daily basis. On top of this, an ITC Centre will be =
operating soon and the activities for the new course have been =
programmed too.=20

The positive outcome of all this is that if something was wrong in the =
centre, from now onwards it'll be solved and things at the Easton =
Community Centre will be back in place again. So far new procedures and =
systems have already been implemented. On the other hand, decisions will =
be made with anyone found responsible for this situation and the =
community will be told about. From everyone working here under such =
pressure, I just can say that this situation has also proved the high =
commitment that many of us have with this centre and with the community =
of Easton too. In one or other way, we'll keep committed to both. Thanks =
for understand the situation. We'll keep you inform if there are further =
developments.
