on the front page of bristol indymedia we do ask people to "Please refrain from posting articles which are not directly related to Bristol or the southwest".  whilst your posting may well be of interest to us, the place for it to go is on either the uk site or the international one, where most people can see it - bristol imc is a local news project.  
the guidelines on the bristol site also talk about this.
