Here's my $0.02 :-

The Bristolian Newssheet is not a political party and the Bristolian Party
is not a party in the traditional sense either. Infact, they only
registered themselves as a party in order to be able to print "Bristolian"
on the ballot paper. Other that that, they are independent candidates who
are in broad agreement on a range of issues, and who promise to work with
local people rather than kowtow to corporations or central london offices.

True, the Bristolian Party grew out of the frustrations and scandle of the
newssheet, and it is fully supportive of the party, but the Bristolian
still produces worthwhile news that is often unreported in the
'mainstream' press. In my opinion, the fact that The Bristolian lends its
name and support to a local political movement should not count against
the fact that it is an important source of local news.

Hi,

I agree the newswire is getting clogged up with this shit and its
reputation
could suffer. The question is what to do about it. As Ian points out,
there
are two areas that these sorts of posts could contravene the editorial
policy:
- an " attempt to monopolise the news wire "
- supporting "party politics"

But IMHO, it is difficult to claim that 'arealbristolian' and 'aspidistra'
are monopolizing the newswire while saying that other regular posters of
genuine interest such as anarchist606 and Bristolian are not...if we can
show that the former are posting more often than the latter, I'd say fair
enough to boot them off.
Supporting party politics - the posts seem more concerned with sad and
pathetic abuse of the Bristolian, rather than actual support of any
political party.

The only grounds I can therefore see is the category of 'abusive
lifestyles'...what do people think?
Otherwise, much as I'd like to find grounds for getting rid of this
rubbish,
I can't find anything which gives grounds to hide these articles...perhaps
the best solution is to work on another re-working of the ed. policy?
