Are we talking about the same web-site?
I just had a look at the site, out of the 76 newswire
pieces 33 were directly related to the war on Iraq and
local opposition to it.
Of the 15 front page articles 11 were concerned with
opposition to war on Iraq.
you wrote:
"What I meant by 'I will sort you out' in this
instance was that I will use the Internet to expose
IMC Bristol as a voluntary movement that vehemently
complained about members who were very concerned
about the war on the Iraqi people - or in other words,
as being to 'not' the type of movement that it
purports to be."
I presume what you are referring to is the removal of
an Iraq related article that you have posted, and the
subsequent explanations provided for doing so.
If you care to visit the web site again you will see
that it clearly states:
'Please refrain from posting articles which are not
directly related to Bristol or the southwest'
This is because we are a decentralized part of the
Indymedia network, and as Bristol is the city in which
we all work, eat, sleep, drink, love, fight etc It
makes sense for us to provide a service to the people
of Bristol.
If you wish to expose the BIMC collective as one that
is primarily concerned with news relating to Bristol
then please go ahead and do so.
If you wish to portray us as pro war or censorious
then please try, I Imagine given the content of the
web site you may find this claim harder to justify.
If you wish to base these arguments on more than a
brief e-mail exchange then I would invite you to our
next meeting: Wed 31 April, The Hillgrove Pub (off
ninetree hill, North Bristol) 7:30pm
cheers Sam
