The rule of law requires that a person is innocent until proven guilty. The
Arab leaders had been exposed to a lot of smear campaigns for very obvious
reasons. When you start campaigning for persecution of Iraqi leaders you are
already imprinting in peoples' minds that those leaders are guilty:
indirectly saying that the Iraqi people are a bunch of 'tossers' who could
not stop a handful of people from ruining their lives. I can argue over this
point until the oceans run dry. But if You do indeed want to take people to
the Hague, then examine two issues:
- the matter that the UN 'claimed' that US soldiers murdered in cold blood
3000 Alqaida war prisoners and left them in a shallow grave
- the issue of looting that we have all witnesses, according to our western
journalists, which resulted not only in ruining the country, but in complete
destruction of its historical treasures under the noses of the very willing
invaders.
If you are referring to the chemical weapons beign used against the kurds,
then may I also point you out in the interest of justice to two issues:
1. Originally it had been claimed by the US that it was the Iranians who had
used the chemical weapons on their own and the Iraqi soldiers and on the
kurds - the position changed after the invasion of Kuwait.
2. Not all officials in Iraq can be accused of sanctioning a chemical attack,
if you are assuming they are all monstrous as such, then how do you explain
the existing of some 20 million people in that country allegedly most of whom
are against the regime?
Western tactics do not fool me, but I tolerate them. Interfering with
justice is something none of us should tolerate.
