Dear All
***An Extraordinary Meeting of Bristol IMC Volunteers and Interested Souls***
I'd like to suggest a meeting to work on organising the much-mooted Community News event.
(I'm calling this an Extraordinary meeting, as opposed to a General meeting, cos I think it would be good to concentrate just on the Community News event. This means that we won't get bogged down in discussing the (infernal) general publicity (dare I even ask who last agreed to do what with the bus map, and are they doing it?!) or any other general business - just this one project.)
I know that the site seems to pretty much run itself at the moment, and I'm aware that quite a few would-be volunteers are willing to help but don't know quite what they could offer...
Now's your chance! So far, the outline idea is to have a day and night of events and films etc. at the Cube. As a starting point, I imagine we will need help with:
liasing with the Cube
planning the programme
publicising the event
possible fundraising, if we want to cover speakers' travel...
contacting people to lead workshops, show films, attend...
chairing discussions
being there to talk about B-IMC to interested folk on the day
setting up computers at the Cube
..
If you could help with any of these or other useful things, (or you'd like to find out more about it) do come along.
How does Thursday 20th February 2003 suit people?
It would be particularly useful to have Pru and/or Ian there as I know you've already both put a lot of thought and effort into this... but if either of you're busy, mebbe you could email some stuff? cheers.
I'm really keen to see this happen soon, and am happy to take on the job of chasing us all around until we get it together!
