Dear Rob

I am a volunteer for the Bristol Indymedia project, and though I can't speak for everyone I thought I'd have a go at responding and clarifying what I see as Bristol Indymedia's position, as I do think you deserve a response.

Having said that, this is only the second email from you on this list, so I'm not sure where you've been sending your other communiques? Please bear in mind that we are all volunteers with many other commitments and the process of the project as a whole can be rather slow - we weren't ignoring you, although it may have felt like that, and we certainly aren't 'scared' of you - I would hope we have no need to be... (this list does get the odd crank email but you sound quite lucid!)

Since your first email I have asked around but no one seems to know who the culprit is - as far as we know we don't have any volunteers in Bath, so we can only assume that either we have a misguided fan out there or someone is trying to get us a bad reputation (and quite possibly succeeding to go by the tone of your email!). Either way, we really cannot take responsibility for the actions of unkown parties, nor would it be reasonable to expect us to do so, though I can appreciate your frustration at not having a neat resolution to your misfortune.

Bristol Indymedia is focused on serving its local community, and I'm disappointed that some irresponsible type has offended you with their stencilling. I assure you that your experience, whilst unfortunate, is not representative of this organisation.

Finally, I'm sorry that someone's been tarnishing your property and Bristol Indymedia's name.

Kyra

Bristol Indymedia,

What is your view on graffitti??.

Do you think it's right to stencil a logo on grade 1 listed buildings??, would you like someone to spray paint your property??? - I hope this has you thinking.

I'm sure you would not like on your property so why have you sprayed you logo (amateur typography at that!) on buildings in Bath?.

I've written to you many times and I think it's time you responded - or are you too scared of the consequences?.

Rob Fluellen.
