Aston Community Festival cancelled

A YEAR'S BREAK FOR EASTON COMMUNITY FESTIVAL

The Easton Community Association unfortunately will not be hosting the Easton Community Festival this Summer, also know as the Under One Sky Festival. 

"This has been a sad decision to make since last year's was so successful but the Community Centre needs to focus on a long-term strategy and its core business. This strategic planning will improve the services and facilities offered to users and develop a stronger more sustainable future for the organisation and the residents of Easton"

"As the Festival grows each year " said Sarah Reeves, Projects Co-ordinator & Festival co-ordinator for the last 2 years," it has also became more expensive and more difficult to attract the level of funding required. We have less staff at the centre this year and therefore we are not in a strong position to deliver the same standard as last year. However, we plan for the festival to be back to its full glory next year.

In the meantime, there is some exciting development work with Chelsea Road & Area Residents Association to co-ordinate a series of resident street parties in Easton. The first meeting will be this Friday 20th June in Bloy Street at 6.30. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and some refreshments.
