update: i've been working with the cube (in particular Kate who is event
managing the event on behalf of the cube) on getting content confirmed so it
can go in their programme.
some of us had suggested a meeting with Kate at the cube tonight (wednesday)
to develop/pin down the programme and to re-confirm who we're each
contacting/what we're each doing. unfotunately, Kate cant make this
meeting, and the cube is busy with an event so:
Media Day Event Meeting
7.30pm Hillgrove
i guess, unless anyone can think of anywhere else we'd be better off
meeting? apologies to anyone this is short notice for.
points to discuss:
-k to feed back on cube input
-all: who is confirmed for the day
-all: confirm list of people to chase up
-all: discuss logistics
-all: publicity
-all: confirm about band
on this last point i must say that i dont think the skavengers are activist
ghetto at all. and repulsive seems a bit steep?! certainly i've never seen
all the non-'activists' / 'ordinary people' at their gigs being repulsed,
just dancing about. for a seated audience, a fourteen piece band would
certainly give us all something to watch, and if we had more chilled DJs in
the bar, people that werent into it could just melt away... thats my
thinking anyway
anyway if there is any possible way we can confirm re. bands today (!!!) i
was told last night that this is positively our last chance to get a mention
for whoever it is into the programme. (and even then its tight so we run
risk of being told to sod off by the printer!) personally, a dream ticket
would be either the skavengers or babyhead, both of which have been
suggested at previous meetings: but i realise that chances of finding
babyhead and asking em in time for tonight is not really likely...
also, re. tony's suggestion about asking BStW Rich, I did have a brief word
with him at the vigil last week but got distracted by bunch of proto-nazi
youth heckling the vigil so never got to confirm whether he'd be interested
or not!
