[IMC-bristol] Who wants to go live on MIR from the start? (was:[Imc-uk-network] Hi Southwest people)

hi ben and all,

it's no problem to create a mir template for southwest - that is
independent from the global process so you could be part of the
mir site even if the 'official application' has not gone through
yet - even if you then won't have the 'official' internet address
southwest.indymedia.org.

BUT - the question is more if you as a collective are ready? that
means are there enough people to maintain that mir template for
southwest cause otherwise it won't make sense to create one...

the same question should be asked to all groups who haven't yet
clearly indicated that they want to be part of the mir at the
start: so far only cambridge, london, oxford, scotland and
sheffield have clearly said that they want to be part from the
start and there will be an "Other Regions" page as well.

so please all make it clear and known to the network list if you
are ready to go life! if not just take your time and we can easily
add your region when you're ready. but only regions which have
indicated their readiness clearly will be on the MIR site when
it goes life...

for indies like lancaster, bristol and wales who run a site on a
different server we need a clear indication of what you want and
if you want to work with rss (syndication). and if you do, how
to set that all up...

if you don't run your own server and want to be part of the MIR
site and need help with the design of your site there is help - it
can be on email but the easiest for Q and A's is IRC so if you can
please come to the #uk channel on irc.indymedia.org...
if you have no irc client then connect to http:irc.indymedia.org
choose a name and when all that gibberish in the small window has
passed type in the white line underneath that window
      /join #uk
and enter. anything you type then will appear in the chat room.

sorry no pressure intended the techs just need some clarity soon...

cheers andi
