I agree with James.   Part of the value of any open forum is the oppertunity for unfettered debate.  In the pub we often adopt a very brash style wehn discussing issues so why should we expect IM to aspire to some sanitised well mannered and unreal ideal.  Unless we are all  very carefull this site will become the preserve of the petrified, predictable PC right on crew who chant the same muddle headed dogma that does nothing to help debate and merely serves to reinforce to those who think they are right that everyone else is wrong.  

Also, can you be left of centre and have sense of humour?  I really do wonder sometimes.....
