hello
I had to give the Cube a programme for October (27th) yesterday. As I
couldn't get hold of Undercurrents I had to come up with the goods in an
hour ( yeah - it was all left to the last minute as usual...)
Also I didn't have phone numbers for Tom + Naomi (or Sam for that matter) -
so I haven't included them in. doh So if its okay with you guys we'll
do your stuff in November and advertise it properly ?? I do apologise - a
complete oversight on my part.
see you tuesday - posters are in the cube office apparently ( tx M&K for that)
cheers

==========================================================================================
An ongoing showcase of contemporary filmmakers who are finding new forms of
cinema to show
resistance to globalisation throughout the world.
Tonight's line-up includes a new community film from the Knowle West Media
Project,
'PRAHAHAHA' - An examination of how the media act as an ideological block
to demonstrations, just as much as the police who create a physical one.
'ON THE BUSES' - In March this year the police illegally hijacked two coach
loads of
anti-war protestors travelling to USAF Fairford. Recently they have won the
right
to a Judicial inquiry. This is their story.
Tonights main feature is 'WHY WAR?' - The Invasion of Iraq ( from the
makers of 'Not In My
Name' - a Bristol premiere )
In 2003 the world's greatest superpower led an invasion that caused the
deaths of thousands
of innocent men, women and children in Iraq. Millions across the globe now
see America as
the biggest threat to world peace. How did this happen? What can we do
about it? This film
explores the background to America¹s imperialist project and charts the
phenomenal growth of
the anti-war movement. How much impact did the stop the war movement have
and where does it
go from here? Will Tony Blair take Britain into another war in support of
the US?
Contributions from Tony Benn, Noam Chomsky, George Galloway, Salma Yaqoob,
Greg Pallast,
Bianca Jagger and many others.
(Monday 27th October / 7:30 / £3/2 (though no one turned away through lack
of funds)) -
