For the record, I feel the calender should be avalible for all local
events - profit or not - my fear is that without non-political events
on it, it will become an activist ghetto of events, only attaraching
the same group of people to see whats going on. By having gigs, club
nights and other non-political events we attarct a wider audience to
use and view the calander - which must be a main aim of the system.
But I agree with James, it would be a good topic to discuss at the next
meeting.
Also for the record, and in the interests of transparency, I know the
people doing Toxic Dancehall - I posted the event on the calender. But
I don't know the others mentioned. I believe in supporting the local
indy music scene, and know that losts of the bands/people doing stuff
at events such as these also do benefit gigs and other worthwile causes.
