Suggested processes- I also posted this to the
website- I hope no one minds having the discussion in
public but I thought it might pre-empt some of the
criticisms arising from the indy cymru/ gosling post..

These guidelines were discussed at last nights
meeting, If you would like to give feedback on them
before they are adopted in about a weeks time then
please e-mail our publically archived e-mail list.
imc-bristol (at) lists.indymedia.org

Joining 'the collective'- anyone who attends three
meetings, agrees to work in a co-operative way and
agrees with the good practice guidelines can become
part of the collective.
This means: –
1)Being given passwords to the website and trained how
to use them
2)legitimately being able to identify themselves as a
member of the collective, on e-mail lists, on the
website and to other third parties.

Once you have joined the collective you will be able
to administer the site using these good practice
guidelines-

1)If you are unsure of whether to hide a article-
leave it up, and ask the list.

2)You agree to not promote your own copy to the center
column

3)You agree not to speak to other media organizations
about Bristol Indymedia without consulting the e-mail
list.

4)You agree others in the group can edit or add
information to any features that you have created-so
long as this editing is accompanied with e-mail to
list.

Grievance procedure-

1) Raise the concern about the behavior on the e-mail
list.

2)If you are complainee or complainer, Make sure that
you are at the next meeting, or send apologies via the
list (in case of apologies from either party no
decision will be taken)

3)At the next occasion where both complainer and
complainee are present both will be asked to give
details of the concern, each taking a turn to speak
with no interruptions, until they have said all they
want to.

4)Both the complainee and the complainer will then
leave the rest of the group and the group will reach a
decision as to what action (if any) to take- consensus
will be aimed for, but it may revert to voting if
consensus is not reached.
