FESTIVALS
Steve to look at the Red and Green. Ana to follow up Shamballa and St.
Werburghs festivals. For St. Werburghs we could have a table and PC
to demo the site. For Shamballa it would be good to get a tent and show
films and other stuff.
Also we still need feedback from those looking at other festivals:
SR Look a Glastonbury & St.Andrews
Kyra Look a Ashton Court
Ellie Bristol Big Bike Ride
Tom St.Pauls
Mark Southmead
UNDERCURRENTS
Here Monday for the film night. A workshop begins at 3pm, possibly involving
film the Fairford trial. Mike stick a feature up about this!
FAIRFORD
This is going to be a major event. Needs to be treated as front page
stuff!
JOINING
Sam suggested some methods for procedures and conflict resolution. (He
has posted these to the site - http://bristol.indymedia.org/newswire/display/15529/index.php).
At the meeting all agreed with trying these out and to post them on
the site so all users can see them.
PARTY POLITICAL POSTS
This was a contentious issue points raised varied from allowing all
posts, to offering coverage to the sidelined non-mainstream parties to
no political party stuff at all.
But in the end it has been suggested that we try to make a decision about
if the post is news or propaganda and to hide propaganda and leave
news. (Unless it breaks the existing guidelines)
STATS
Tom to write an article about them!
INDYMEDIA FILM NIGHT
Here is the format so far: We have a slot at the Cube, mainly a Monday
towards the end of the month. Copy for this needs to be in 6 weeks
before. So far we have been showing local and other shorts in the first
half (inc. the Euro Indymedia Newsreal) and showing a feature length
doc after the break. The events films start around 8ish and aim to end
just after 10ish.
CALENDER
Crash asked for more help in moderating needs to send the passwords
to those who agreed to help.
UNVERFIED EMAIL ADDRESSES
The topic of how anonymity is used to attack people was brought up
as the question of only allowing posts via a verified email address
but this was deemed to be counter productive to open access.
NEXT MEETING
Next meeting (normal not media day) is 17th May at 8pm in The Cornubia
(142, Temple St, Bristol Avon, BS1 6EN ). This meeting needs to be
posted to the calendar etc. We need to try and book the upstairs room.
