hello

Below are the details for the March 22nd film night @ da cube.

Unfortunately Toms film fell through yesterday as Jani Roberts couldn't lay
her hands on a high quality screening copy - hopefully we can programme
that in on a later date.

I think its quite a strong programme all in all. I have quite a lot of
films on the back burner now - so we could even expand to twice a month if
I can get some reliable help.

On a different tip I'm doing an outreach talk up at Bath Uni next
Wednesday. Anyone fancy helping?

best
ian

Body of text - An ongoing showcase of contemporary filmmakers who are
finding new forms of cinema to show resistance to globalisation throughout
the world.

Tonights line up includes a presentation & discussion from Rich Cookson
(Big Issue/Venue) about the secretive organisation THE SOCIETY OF THE
MERCHANT VENTURERS which has dominated Bristol for the past 500

in 1995 by James Garrett for HTV who will also introduce
it. <http://www.merchantventurers.org/>http://www.merchantventurers.org
Also screening will be a selection of inspiring INDYMEDIA shorts.

The main feature will be AFGHAN MASSACRE: THE CONVOY OF DEATH A rare
outing for this powerful film exposing the U.S. role in the massacre of
three thousand unarmed prisoners of war in Afghanistan It tells the story
of how thousands of Taleban prisoners who surrendered to the US military
were forced into sealed containers and loaded onto trucks for transport to
Sheberghan prison where many suffocated to death en route. The survivors
were buried alive as U.S. Troops stood by and watched. Were they involved
in a war crime?
