[IMC-bristol] cookies

I have just noticed that the new site is trying to store cookies on my computer (perhaps the old one did too but I didn't notice).  I thought there was a decision against the  use of cookies.  Maybe my memory is failing!  

If the new site has to use cookies then there be something or a link on the front page site that says what info is stored in the cookie and why there is a need to use them.  I would prefer not to use cookies if this is possible.
