Every International Women's Day women in over 60 countries take part in the
Global Women's Strike with the demand Invest in Caring - Not Killing.
This year the Strike kicks off over a week of local, national and
international activities on and around International Women's Day, 8 March
2004.

SATURDAY 6 MARCH:
WOMEN PUT THE GOVERNMENT ON TRIAL FOR CRIMES AT HOME AND ABROAD
Time: 3pm - 6pm
Venue: Trafalgar Square, London
Sponsored by the Iraqi Women's League and the All African Women's Group.
With the participation and support of Payday, a network of men.
All welcome to come and say how this warmongering, uncaring government is
affecting you and your loved ones. Compare it to how the Venezuelan
government backs women in "creating a caring economy, an economy at the
service of human beings" which they are defending against US-backed
subversion.
The Strike is part of the global movement against war and occupation: in
Iraq, Palestine, Chechnya, Colombia, Congo, Kashmir . . . Women, who are the
first carers and the first fighters for the survival of loved ones, demand
that the $1 trillion now spent on military budgets be used instead for basic
survival needs - clean accessible water, food security, healthcare, housing,
education, safety from rape and other violence, and protection of our
planet.
