hi all

good to be back on this email list after my comedy self-imposed exile 
through messing up my email all last month - sorry to anyone and 
everyone whose discussions here i will have missed...

RE: meeting on 14th, i've been thinking over some possible b-imc new 
year's resolutions that it would be good to discuss with you all:

EDITORIAL POLICY AND GUIDELINES: (GET THEM ONLINE!)	
mike has now put the drafts i did (in april 2003, i notice!) of these on 
the twiki page.  most people seem to be happy with these, so can anyone 
wanting amendments made post them to this list before the 14th, so that 
we can approve a final draft at the meeting and get the things online?

OUTREACH: (DO MORE!)
it was generally agreed that we would host another independent media day 
in 2004, following on from the one in june 2003.  several things about 
this:
 >the cube are keen to host it again, and i reckon its a good venue
 >last year ian, pru and i did a mass mailout to community groups 
producing their own media - newssheets, etc. - across bristol, but few 
people from this came along to the event.  what about having an 
introductory event say a month beforehand, tailored to community groups' 
media needs and interests, so that people can be eased into what 
indymedia is etc. and so feel better equipped to contribute to the media 
day event itself?  perhaps we could have this at the watershed - 
apparently they're keen for us to do something there and its central etc.
 >timescale: intro event for community groups in may 2004, media day in 
june 2004?
 >the Spark offered to help support (i.e. with cash) a 2004 media day - 
do we want to take them up on this?  (obviously we will once again be 
making an effort to involved all the other independent mediamongers of 
bristol as it is...)
 >media day aside, perhaps we could have an intro pack that we could 
send out to colleges/other places... would need bit of cash for this... 
and some more flyers would be good too... flaco's are good but perhaps 
some explaining what b-imc has done in the 2 years since we put that one 
together would be good too!

FUNDRAISING
several meetings have agreed that we should look for funding to support 
the outreach programme (such as it currently is): including the film 
nights... we should organise a fundraising meeting specifically to 
discuss sources, principles etc. after the 14th...

AL-MUAJAHA
several ideas came up during the meeting with Ramzi about ways we can 
continue to support the Baghdad project - perhaps we could have an 
update on where we're at with them on the 14th?

ok, thats it. any other suggestions of topics for the meeting?
