[IMC-bristol] UWE People & Planet: Fair Trade Fortnight

Hello all,
The stall for fair trade fortnight sounds good. I'd be up for doing some
stuff- running the projector, talking to people at the stall and giving out
flyers, whatever really. I'll have a think about possible talk material as
well but if anyone else has ideas already or wants to do a talk that's
wicked. Maybe it would be good to talk about stuff like the GReen Map of
Bristol CLAN are working on, since it's a fair trade/open media thing-
though maybe that's for them to do. Will they be there?
Will it be on Frenchay? I have the first half of the week off now so I could
do it all day if necessary. A bit of company would be nice though.
There's a good film Pru found which is a possible for a film night, about
John Heartfield- a German who changed his name to protest about German
jingoism during WWII, and pioneered a lot of subvertising and
counter-propaganda techniques tinkering about with Hitler's propaganda. Also
looks at how his photomontage techniques have been appropriated by the ad
industry. Instructive, inspiring and historical I think. We can get a copy
at UWE. Is the line-up for Feb finalised yet?
Naomi
