[IMC-bristol] oh and... finances

...forgot to say thanks to everyone who contributed to monday night, it 
was great to have so many people there, and whilst its difficult to turn 
people away it was good to have a full house. and the people that left 
were ok about it, and said they'll definitely be booking in advance for 
next month!

and the cube are well pleased, particularly as the bar made a good 
amount also.

after we had paid the cube, and paid the costs of getting the film, we 
made £160, so on the night we agreed to give the cube a donation of £50 
- our agreement with them is quite informal but is basically that they 
take a small amount of the money on the door each month, and if we make 
a big amount of money on a particular night, then we will give them some 
extra - hopefully this balances out with the months when we dont get 
enough people there to cover the cubes costs... although obviously we're 
hoping that we can keep pulling people in!

so from monday b-imc have £110 in hand.

also charlie from italy emailed to say how well he thinks the sites 
going at the moment (thought i should pass the rare praise on to 
everyone!) and to ask how to send us a donation.

[for anyone whos only recently joined this list, b-imc has a bank 
account with Triodos.  to date we have used money we've raised to send 
to al-muajaha and to subsidise and provide childcare at the making the 
media day so people could choose to pay a donation for the event rather 
than a set price, to send a donation to imc argentina and to subsidise 
transport for four volunteers to go to the uk national imcs meeting in 
sheffield.
in the future we would like to be able to maintain a decent server and 
cover associated internet connection costs, have subsidised screenings, 
have another making the media event. other suggestions for fundraising 
or what we ought to spend it on, welcome]
