I notice the 'unbelievable' thing has been pulled. Just in case any of you are in any doubt why I didn't pull this item and instead commented it was because it felt it would be an abuse of my back end access to pull an item critical of myself.
I am fascinated that my undoubtedly crass comment to a crass comment should have attracted so much criticism. perhaps I sound incredibly naive but it seems I just cant 'see' the 'rules' of IM. On the one hand comments saying whole groups of society are worthless and should even be killed go largely unchallenged, and even comments telling people to kill themselves are deemed acceptable by the rump of right-on-ness but on the other hand a throw away line that appears to make burgers an invisible holy cow attaracts calls for my 'punishment'. Odd. And interesting.
It appears sometimes that the 'activist' community is still hamstrung by a group think that is wholly contrary to any pretence to the ability of asking real and difficult questions that may provide answers that could, just could, mean there is a way forward but is instead mired in a dogma that is the production of guilt, not thought.
All interesting stuff from a broad sociological perspective.
This e mail has been brought to you courtesy of too much coffee, the fuel of choice of an anarchic mind.
Obviously no offence intended and I regret any that may have been taken.
To those who find all this attnetion I get irksome, my apologies.
Mark.
