Welcome back,

I would just like to recognise that you have had a great influence
working within bristol indymedia over the past couple of years. You
have at times been a personal inspiration to me and I'm delighted that
you feel able to get back on board.

Wicked poster by the way! I will get some printed - can someone
volunteer to take them to each of the universities and elsewhere...?

Did you get the info that I invited Paul to come down early do an
afternoon workshop before the April film night - we have booked the cube
for an afternoon session. I hope you can make it...

I think it might be usefull for the rest of us to start drafting some
guidelines for volunteers - in a sense to define what a volunteer is,
just to help anyone who is not clear.

I believe that volunteers should try to:

- contribute regularly to the project in a positive way - posting
articles or features, moderating the site, creating content, organising
events, etc

- build trust relationships with members of the group [this includes
informal social interaction :]

- take on admin responsibilities when necessary

- feedback their ideas and actions to the group, particularly when
participating in wider IMC activities on a national or global level.

- avoid conflict

- drink beer [pref organic - not compulsory]

- be prepared to step away from the project at any time if asked to do
so by the group

I also think we need to recognise that while the mailing list is a
usefull communication tool, it is not the be-all and end-all of the
group - personal interaction is more important, particularly as we are a
local group.

Persistent postings, either from known members or anonymous users,
should not be taken too seriously.
