[IMC-bristol] BIMC or 'trade it' ?

I would like to suggest an agenda item for discussion at next meeting and to seek lists opinion.
Several posts recently have clearly not been news but have appeared to be using the site as a bulletin board, a kind of 'shop window'.
We have had requests of help for making a film, offers of items for sale, sale of trips to france and one seeking lost relatives.
What is to be done? All of these posts can be said to be innaproprite on a newswire, but if only occasinal are probably no problem. My concern is that the wire may become 'trade it'.
Clearly people are starting to see BIMC as a community resource and this can only be a good thing and broadens the sites readership. But I hope BIMC can stay wedded to its aims of open news publishing.
I would hide the seeking grandchildren thread but am reluctant to do so without a consensus.
Any thoughts...
Mark.
