Dear Both/All
Thanks for your interest. Nothing from Michael Moore so far, and the
latest news from Cannes is that he's in negotiations with some other
distribution cos so probably we won't be hearing from him. However, I
don't think the idea was a mistake. We could perhaps think of pursuing
our interest in freedom of expression (when we have the time) by
arranging to show other films that have run into censorship problems.
For example, you may have read recently of an Iranian film that started
to have quite a success and then was banned by the religious
authorities. Don't remember the name, but it's by a well-known director
and it's a comedy about a convict who escapes from prison disguised as
a cleric, and his subsequent adventures.... Anyway, just an idea.
